Jordan Bardella holds a commanding position as the incumbent National Rally president and the party's most prominent figure ahead of the 2026 leadership contest. He assumed the role in 2022 following Marine Le Pen's decision to step back and focus on parliamentary duties, consolidating support through consistent visibility as an MEP, regional influence, and alignment with the party's nationalist platform on immigration and EU issues. Recent polling strength and party cohesion have reinforced trader consensus around his re-election prospects. Potential shifts could arise from internal factional challenges, a major legal development affecting his eligibility, or Le Pen's return to the post after the 2027 presidential cycle, though such moves remain low-probability based on current dynamics.
