Recent polling ahead of Sweden’s September 13 parliamentary election shows the centre-left bloc anchored by Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrats holding a roughly 10-point lead over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s Tidö coalition, translating into projected seat majorities that position Andersson to regain the premiership. Traders have priced this consistent advantage into a dominant 92.5% implied probability for Andersson, reflecting the wisdom of crowds assessing limited time for the incumbent government to close the gap before voters decide. Key factors sustaining the lead include sustained support for the opposition’s platform among key voter groups and the structural difficulty of overturning such margins in the final weeks. Scenarios that could still alter the outcome include an unexpected late polling shift or post-election coalition complications, though current evidence indicates these remain low-probability paths.
