Recent polling has shown President Trump's job approval rating reaching new lows for his second term, with Reuters/Ipsos reporting 33% approval and other trackers such as YouGov/Economist and NYT averages placing it near 35-38% as of mid-August. This decline, tied partly to ongoing Iran-related military actions since mid-July and softening support among independents and some Republican-leaning groups, has tilted the near-term market slightly toward a weekly drop. Competitive balance persists because approval figures often fluctuate modestly week to week amid routine polling variance, economic data releases, and legislative activity. Fresh surveys, White House announcements, or diplomatic developments in the coming days could shift momentum either direction before the market resolves.
