Recent National Weather Service and WeatherBug forecasts for Chicago on September 9 show a daytime high near 80–86°F with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms, followed by an overnight low in the mid-60s amid southwest winds of 10–15 mph. This setup creates uncertainty in the minimum temperature, as increased cloud cover, precipitation, and mixing from the approaching system limit nocturnal radiative cooling compared to clearer, calmer conditions. Historical September 9 lows average 61.5°F, but recent model runs and current humidity levels support trader consensus reflected in the near-even market-implied odds between 67°F or below and 86°F or higher. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycles will refine the temperature trajectory before resolution.
