**Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston points to a minimum temperature near 78–80°F on September 9, amid humid conditions and a 70% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.** Persistent high dew points near 75°F and light easterly winds are limiting overnight radiational cooling, keeping lows in the upper 70s rather than the seasonal average of ~74°F. Thunderstorm outflow or increased cloud cover could enhance mixing and nudge the minimum a few degrees lower, while any delay in storm development or stronger subsidence might hold readings closer to 80°F or above. With resolution thresholds clustered around these values and only two days remaining, updated NWS forecast discussions and mesoscale model runs will be the primary near-term drivers of trader positioning.
