Recent Mexico inflation data show headline CPI easing sharply to 3.12% year-over-year in July 2026 from 3.37% in June and 3.94% in May, the lowest reading since late 2020 and well inside Banxico’s 2–4% target band. Core inflation has also moderated toward 3.95%, supported by subdued food, energy, and services prices amid peso stability and expanded government subsidies. Traders price the 2026 annual outcome most heavily in the 3.50–3.99% and 4.00–4.49% buckets because the first-half average was higher while the second-half trajectory points lower; Banxico’s latest projections anticipate convergence to target only by late 2027 at a gradual pace. Key swing factors include upcoming monthly CPI prints, Banxico policy decisions, and any renewed pressures from global commodity prices or domestic demand.
