Recent polling shows the PLQ at 20-24% provincewide, with strength concentrated among anglophone and allophone voters on the Island of Montreal but only 14% among francophones. This distribution produces inefficient vote concentration, capping projected seats near 31 in aggregators despite the party’s second-place popular vote standing. The election writ dropped in late August ahead of the October 5 vote, and the latest Synopsis survey recorded a six-point PLQ decline as CAQ support rose sharply. High undecided levels and tight three-way races in many ridings outside Montreal keep the seat range narrow. Further regional polling shifts, candidate performance in battlegrounds, or late campaign momentum among francophone voters could widen or narrow the final tally.
