Anne Hathaway leads early trader sentiment for the 2027 Best Supporting Actress Oscar at 39% implied probability, driven by her high-profile role as Penelope in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which opened to strong box office and critical acclaim this summer. Universal’s aggressive awards push and the film’s expected nomination haul create momentum, though debate persists over whether she campaigns in lead or supporting. Penélope Cruz follows at 13% on the strength of roles in “La Bola Negra” and “The Invite,” while Mariana di Girolamo (“Wild Horse Nine”) and Sandra Hüller sit lower amid a crowded field. With no guild or critics’ awards yet, the race remains fluid; fall festival premieres and category positioning decisions will likely shift odds before precursor season begins.
