Official observations from New York City stations, including Central Park and area airports, recorded a daily maximum temperature of 80–81°F on September 11, 2026, aligning precisely with the market’s dominant outcome. This reading exceeded the 1991–2020 climatological average high of roughly 78°F but remained well below historical extremes for the date. Clear skies, light northwesterly winds, and a stable air mass supported modest daytime warming without significant advection or moisture influences that could have altered the peak. National Weather Service data releases and model verification in the hours after sunset confirmed the exact bin, prompting the near-certain trader consensus. Only an improbable station discrepancy or post-event data revision could shift resolution.
