**National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 16, 2026, call for a high near 72°F under mostly cloudy skies with a 40% chance of showers, driven by northeasterly flow and limited solar heating from persistent cloud cover.** This setup suppresses temperatures below the 76°F climatological average for the date. Hourly model guidance and observational trends show peaks holding in the low 70s, aligning with the market's leading 72-73°F bin at 51% implied probability. The secondary 74-75°F outcome at 35.5% reflects minor upside risk if breaks in clouds allow brief warming before evening. Resolution depends on official airport observations, with no major model shifts reported in the latest updates.
