This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 18 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Current forecasts for Houston on September 18, 2026, point to a low in the upper 70s under clear skies following a hot, sunny day with highs in the mid-90s.** Multiple sources, including detailed 10-day outlooks, consistently show overnight lows near 78°F or in the mid-70s, driven by high pressure, light winds, and minimal cloud cover that allows efficient radiative cooling after sunset. Trader sentiment clusters around the 76–81°F outcomes (collectively over 66% implied probability) because model consensus and official guidance show a narrow range rather than a precise single value. Key differentiating factors include the exact timing of the minimum (typically just before sunrise), subtle variations in dew point and humidity that can trap heat near the surface, and minor differences in how stations measure the overnight low. Clear, dry conditions favor a sharper drop toward the lower end of that band, while any residual moisture or slightly stronger mixing could hold temperatures a degree or two higher. Recent days have featured humid, stormy afternoons with highs near or above 95°F and lows in the low-to-mid 80s, setting up a pattern where the 18th’s clearer air mass enables more cooling than recent nights. Historical mid-September averages are lower (around 72°F), but the ongoing warm anomaly supports elevated minimums. With resolution just two days away, the tight spread among leading bins reflects genuine forecast uncertainty in the precise overnight minimum rather than divergent scenarios.
