Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private providers indicate Atlanta will experience overnight lows near 70–73°F on September 18, 2026, driven by weak steering flow, limited radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies, and scattered thunderstorm activity that maintains boundary-layer moisture. These conditions produce the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around 70–73°F bins. Historical climatology shows an average low of 65°F, yet the current warm anomaly stems from above-normal sea-surface temperatures in the Gulf and absence of a reinforcing cold front. Traders weigh minor model spreads in cloud timing and dew-point depression, which can shift the minimum by 2–3°F, against the narrow window before resolution. Updated NWS and NOAA guidance expected within 24 hours will likely refine the exact threshold.
