Current forecasts from multiple models indicate Atlanta will experience a continuation of the mid-September warm spell, with highs likely reaching the low-to-mid 90s on September 18 amid mostly sunny skies and light winds. Afternoon isolated thunderstorms, carrying a 20-40% chance, introduce the main uncertainty by potentially limiting peak heating through cloud cover and evaporative cooling, which differentiates the closely matched 92-93°F and 94-95°F market outcomes. This setup exceeds the 1991-2020 climatological average high of 82.8°F by roughly 10-12°F due to an anomalous warm air mass, though it remains well below the 97°F date record; updated National Weather Service model runs over the next 48 hours will refine the exact maximum.
