**Trader consensus clusters around 88–91°F for Houston’s September 17 high, reflecting uncertainty over afternoon convection.** Official National Weather Service guidance projects a partly sunny day with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon, and a high near 92°F under easterly flow of 5–10 mph. Persistent Gulf moisture and high humidity favor scattered storms that could increase cloud cover, enhance evaporative cooling, and cap peak temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. Clearer conditions or delayed storm development would allow stronger insolation and readings closer to 92–93°F. Recent model runs show modest spread in timing and coverage of precipitation, while historical September highs average near 90–92°F. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model guidance remain the key near-term catalysts.
