Lula's commanding position in Ceará reflects sustained regional voter alignments in Brazil's Northeast, where his PT party maintains deep organizational roots and policy resonance on social programs. Multiple July and August 2026 polls, including Ipsos-Ipec, Quaest, and Real Time Big Data surveys of 800–1,600 state voters, show him at 54–65% in the first round against Flávio Bolsonaro at 21–23%, with all other listed contenders below 4%. This pattern aligns with high state-level approval of the incumbent administration. Trader consensus in the market embeds these dynamics as high implied probability. Shifts could still occur from late-campaign developments such as major scandals, health events affecting frontrunners, or unexpected legal rulings that alter ballot access or voter perceptions before the October first round.
