Lula maintains a commanding lead in Bahia for first place in the presidential first round due to the state's longstanding alignment with the Workers' Party and consistent polling dominance. Recent Quaest surveys from July show him at 52% of voting intentions in the state, well ahead of Flávio Bolsonaro at 18% and other contenders in single digits, supported by 62% government approval among baianos. National polls indicate a tighter contest, but Bahia-specific data reflect deeper regional loyalty in the Northeast. Traders price this outcome at 97.1%, aligning with these patterns. Factors that could narrow the gap include late-campaign developments, shifts in undecided voters (around 13-15% in recent surveys), or turnout changes ahead of the October 4 first round.
